


WorldViews AFRICA is a regional division of WorldViews. Known formerly as Third World Resources, WorldViews gathers, organizes, and publicizes information and resource materials that deal with issues of peace and justice in world affairs. Our particular concern is with the emerging nations of Africa, Asia and Pacific, Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Middle East.
Note: WorldViews continues the work of Third World Resources, a non-profit organization established in 1984.

Resource Center
Africa-related materials in the WorldViews Resource Center include books,
periodicals, pamphlets, curriculum materials, vertical files of information
on Africa-related nongovernmental organizations, and catalogs and
directories of films, videos, audiotapes, compact discs, and educational
CD-ROMs.
All WorldViews resources are available to the public by special appointment only.

Publications
Africa-related print and audiovisual resources are reviewed and annotated
in all of the publications produced by WorldViews. These include a quarterly
magazine, directories, and a regional guide with contact information for
more than 250 Africa-related international organizations.
WorldViews is also producing an annotated guide to resource materials from and about Africa entitled Africa World Press Guide. The guide will be available online in a WorldViews Web site in late 1995 and will be published in spring 1996 in hard copy by Africa World Press (Lawrenceville, N.J.).

Search and Document Delivery Services
Those outside the San Francisco Bay Area who are unable to come
in person to use the Africa-related resources at the WorldViews
Resource Center, can access the resources in the WorldViews collection by contacting the staff of WorldViews. Sliding-scale fees are charged for these search and document delivery services.

Electronic Information Services
WorldViews AFRICA produces electronic
versions of its resource information in a variety of formats, including
an Internet Web site, gopher files, and a Wide Area Information
Server (WAIS).
The electronic edition of portions of the Africa World Press Guide (see description above) is available as of 1 January 1998 on the World Wide Web.
